The Chaldeans were establishing themselves in the Fertile Crescent while the Medes and the Persians ruled what is now present-day Iran. In 612 B.C. they conquered what was most of Assyria.
The Chaldean Empire was founded by Nebuchadnezzar. Nebuchadnezzar founded the Chaldean Empire in 625 B.C.
The Chaldeans were very interested in astrology. They believed the positions of the planets and the stars affected and influenced human lives. The various actions of the sun were imagined to be representatives of the birth, death, and the resurrection of the sun god.
There
is evidence that the Chaldeans knew ELOHM of Genesis. ELOHM of Genesis created
heaven and earth. The Cushite Chaldeans became polytheistic worshipping
the sun, the moon, and the planets. Another important part of Chaldean culture
was Mother Goddess worship.
The Chaldeans celebrated the Babylonian New Year festival during the time of Nebuchadnezzar. He was the king of Babylon from 604-562 B.C. Surrounding communities came to Babylon. Each community was carrying its own god.
