Inroduction

You are a endangered Karner Blue Butterfly flying alone on what used to be your home.  It was destroyed by the making of a big mall.  Where are you going to go? How are you going to eat?  You are in trouble until you meet a boy/girl who takes care of you  know you can hopefully live.

Task

Pretend you are a boy/girl who encounters a Karner Blue.  Plan on how you are going to take care of it.  Do a powerpoint (if you can't skip this) on your plan.  Then write an imaginary letter to the mayor of your town about how you are going to help get the population back up. Just a quick retake:1.Plan how you are going to take care of the Karner Blue.2.Do a power point on how you are going to take care of the Karner Blue (if you can).3.Write an imaginary letter to the mayor of your town saying how you are going to get the population back up.

Process

1.Find out how to take care of a Karner Blue using the resources given.

2.If you know how to do a Power point. the powerpoint needs to be five slides.  The first slide is the intro/title page.  The second slide is about what you fed it.  The third slide is about where you kept it.  The fourth slide is about how much it likes you.  The fifth slide is the conclusion.  remember you only have to do the powerpoint  if you know how to.

3.Write a friendly letter to the mayor regarding getting the population of Karner Blues back up.

Evaluation

The evaluation on the Powerpoint is fairly easy.  The slides have to have at least three sentences in each slide.  The slides have to be complete with animation, background, and pictures.  The letter should be at least 2 paragraphs with complete sentences.  This rubric tells you how you will be graded

Powerpoint

Level 1 lacks most needed and complete sentences. Level 2 medium ok lacks all effects. Level 3 has animation a background complete sentences but no pictures. Level 4 perfect has everything needed.

Letter

Level 1 not in letter form and has no complete sentences. Level 2 has complete sentences but is in no letter form. Level 3 has letter form and complete sentences. Level 4 perfect is more paragraphs then needed has complete sentences and is in letter form.

Conclusion

Now you should have learned what to do if you capture a Karner Blue.  If you would like to take butterflies farther you may want to order from this site http://www.floridamonarch.com/.    I would like you to remember that if you ever encounter a Karner Blue please leave it alone because Karner Blue are endangered and you will be arrested.
